FAQ

Following are a handful of Northwest Pool Covers customers’ frequently asked questions (FAQ). If you do not find the answer to your question here, please call: (800) 274-3021.

Q: Do you service my existing automatic pool cover?
A: We service all major brands of pool cover, including Coverstar, Cover-Pools, Aquamatic, and Pool Cover Specialists.

Q: Does my cover require maintenance?
A: Yes. Your cover will run longer and better if it is regularly maintained. This includes keeping the cover and mechanism housing free from dirt and debris. For many outdoor pool owners in the Northwest, with our variable weather, a regimen of winterizing and spring upkeep helps to keep the cover operating at its best.

Q: Can I walk on my cover?
A:
The cover is built to support the weight of several adults. However, that is a protective safety feature and NOT a recommendation.

Q: Does my pool cover track have to be built onto the deck?
A:
The options for your cover depend largely on whether this is a new or existing pool. For new pools, there are many options for the track. Please refer to Guide Options.

Q: Will my pool cover save me money?
A:
Yes! Covers allow you to prevent water evaporation and heat loss. You also save money on chemicals to keep the water clean by preventing leaves and dirt accumulation in the first place. Learn more on our Savings page.

Q: How will I know when my cover needs to be replaced?
A:
As can be expected from anything that is exposed to chemicals and changing weather, pool covers do need to occasionally be replaced. Look for wear and tear over time: cracks and peeling, stiffness, or frayed or disintegrated sewn webbing.
